Krzywosinski Continues Dominance at Springport

By: Chris Fobbe - Springport Motor Speedway

Springport, Michigan (6/20) -- Kyle Kulikowski would start on the pole for what was set to be a thrilling Outlaw Super Late Models feature at the Springport Motor Speedway on Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club night. K. Kulikowski would quickly be overtaken by Tim Rugg on lap one, before Don Burkhart and Bob Bauer each did a stint at the front of the field before Justin Claucherty and Dan Krzywosinski did battle for several laps, side by side. The two drivers would put on a thrilling show, but after the handling went away on Claucherty's ride, Krzywosinski would take the lead and go on to claim his third straight feature win. Bob Bauer was second with Claucherty, D. Burkhart, and Rugg completing the top five. D. Burkhart and Krzwosinski took heat race wins with Krzywosinski also setting fast time with a 15.362 (87.88 mph).

The A-Division Feature was next in line with another thrilling race. Jimmy Scavarda would start on the pole and once again the front of the field was very busy with Mark Langs Jr., and Damon Place all doing stints up front before another battle would wage between Tyler Hufford and John Trudell. Trudell would be able to keep contact with Hufford, but it was not to be as Hufford went on to claim his fifth straight feature. Trudell remained second with JD Hancock, Langs Jr., and Cody Eglon closing out the top five.

As has been the case all season long, Defending Track Champion Bryan Noble and Randy Riever were the stars of the B-Division feature. Brandon Biddinger started on the pole but was overtaken by Dale Eglon after leading the opening lap. Eglon held onto the point for six laps before Corby Howk found himself out front. While Noble and Riever were able to pass him, the three drivers would maintain a tight pack around the 3/8s (.375) mile oval. But it was to be Noble picking up his third win of the season with RieverHowk Tanner Tallarico and Quinten Bethke closing out the top five.

It was an exciting end to the C-Division feature, when Mike Westphal narrowly lost out to Tyler Hawkins, snagging the lead away from Westphal on the penultimate lap to take the win in just his second appearance of the season. Westphal was second with Robert Kerber, Tony Noble, and Jerry Schroll completing the top five.

Randy Riever won the four-car dash, with heat races going to Westphal, Dale Eglon, Craig Stephens, Tim Sharpe Jr., and Jimmy Scavarda. Tyler Hufford was fast qualifier with a 16.225 (83.21 mph).

The Sport Stocks started with Chris Reid up front but Rick Peck would be your leader by lap one. Aaron Taylor got by on lap nine, but it would continue to be a duel to the finish. Coming down to the checkered flag, Peck would make contact with Taylor spinning him out. Peck would be penalized for aggressive driving and the win would fall to Greg Pinard, picking up his fourth win of the season. Nick Leonard was second with Trina Newman, Abby Looman and Wayne Parkhurst closing out the top five. Heats went to Parkhurst and Taylor with Taylor also setting fast time at a 18.825 (71.71 mph).
