mike-woodSpringport Motor Speedway announced today that one of the top professional motorsports photographers in Michigan will be joining the Port for the 2012 season. Michael "Woody" Wood and his team of shooters have been contracted to photograph Springport Motor Speedway action like it has never been captured before.

Springport Motor Speedway General Manager Jeff Parish said "We are excited about taking our visual imaging to the next level. We are very pleased with the efforts Mark and Jamie gave SMS over the past few years. Jamie is joining Woody's team and will be here weekly honing her craft. Mark has been invited to continue his highly popular, highly specialized "Racing Art". We are very happy the "Racing Woodys" team has accepted our offer to become the official track photographer at Springport Motor Speedway."

Based out of nearby Battle Creek, Mi; Woody has been a fixture at different levels of auto racing, covering NASCAR's Sprint Cup, Nationwide, and Camping World Trucks, also the IRL, ARCA and TORC off-road series. "Covering Springport Motor Speedway nicely supports my goals to expand the Racing Woodys woody-spartan-1brand into motorsports marketing, it's an exciting time for me. I love short track racing and I am looking forward to bringing more coverage of local drivers and striving to get them national level exposure." said Racing Woodys founder Mike Wood.

The teams, drivers, families and fans of Springport Motor Speedway can expect to see a new level of racing imaging coming out of the Port. We will have multiple professional photographers taking photos from various angles and different perspectives that have ever been attempted before. Each race weekend will produce 1000's of images and from those efforts we will tell the stories of our racing community like they haven't been told before.

Woody's skills extend beyond the race track camera; he has worked as an extreme sports photographer in Southern California for various surfer magazines and Budweiser action sports. His work has been seen in Surfer Magazine, Jet Ski Magazine, Dirt and various motocross magazines. His clientele list included Fox and AXO. We encourage our teams to contact Woody to set up photo shoots, get hero cards, have web design work completed or get advanced marketing support... or just welcome him to our team.
