"Smooth Move of the Race" - Season Update !

tn-dairy-kreme-logoEarlier this year, Springport Motor Speedway announced the launch of the "Smooth Move of the Race" presented by T&N Dairy Kreme of Springport.  T&N Dairy Kreme has the smoothest, freshest, best tasting ice cream in Springport and throughout the 2012 season the driver who performs the smoothest move of the race will find themselves enjoying a large cone courtesy of T&N Dairy Kreme.

Springport Motor Speedway promoter and general manager Jeff Parish said "We are very happy to have Nancy, Corby and the team at T&N join us at the Speedway.  The Speedway is all about promoting local goods and services to our local community and could you think of a better example then this partnership?".

T&N Dairy Kreme is located at 100 West Main St in downtown Springport, right at the flashing light.  T&N Dairy Kreme will be opening for the 2012 ice cream season on March 1st, just 7 days from today !

The "Smooth Move of the Race" will be announced on Tuesday's via the Springport Motor Speedway Facebook Page and the T&N Dairy Kreme Facebook Pages.  If you have not had a chance to visit either of these pages, we invite you to do so now by clicking on their links.  The award winner will find the free cone voucher in their purse envelope the next time they Race Springport, and then are invited to stop on in at T&N Dairy Kreme, say hello to Nancy and Corby and enjoy a smooth one on us !

So, who have been the winners so far this year :

‎5/5/12 : The #24 of Damon Place would get a nose under Trammell and beat him back to the line to take the win. The big power move would earn the T&N Dairy Kreme "Smooth Move of the Race" award and earn the Leslie resident a free large cone at Springport's favorite soft serve ice cream stand. The race was run caution free and the fans greatly appreciated the splendid demonstration of driver skill and ability.

5/12/12 : Rain out.

5/19/12 : Following the race, the scoring crew determined that Ron Heeney's slippery snake move on the opening lap of the B-Group Feature was the T&N Dairy Kreme "Smooth Move of the Race".  ‎5/26/12 : Following the race, the tower crew determined that Rich Kinch's slick move in the heat race to avoid a fish tailing Craig Stephens, keep his foot to the floor and pass Eric Wagner in a 3rd to 1st charge down the front stretch on the outside was the T&N Dairy Kreme "Smooth Move of the Race". The "Smooth Move of the Race" awards one skilled driver a free large cone from T&N Dairy Kreme in Springport. 6/2/12 : Following the race, the tower crew determined that Tom Coleman's opportunistic move along the bottom of the backstretch on lap one was the T&N Dairy Kreme "Smooth Move of the Race". ‎6/9/12 : Following the race, the tower crew determined that John Turnbell Jr's fence climbing Spider Man move following the win was the T&N Dairy Kreme "Smooth Move of the Race". ‎6/10/12 : Following the race, the tower crew determined that Keith Dunham's full-sideways slide through the grass and out onto turns 3 and 4 in the midst of a pack of cars without slowing or wrecking was the T&N Dairy Kreme "Smooth Move of the Race". The "Smooth Move of the Race" awards one skilled driver a free large cone from T&N Dairy Kreme in Springport. ‎6/16/12 : The next Johnny VanDoorn returns to Springport Motor Speedway, he'll find a "Big Cone" waiting for him. VanDoorn's move to make the low side pass in Turn Three was the T&N Dairy Kreme "Smooth Move of the Race". 6/23/12 : Following the race, the tower crew determined that Juston Eidenier's kamakazee dive on the final lap of the Sport Stock race was the T&N Dairy Kreme "Smooth Move of the Race". While Eidenier wouldn't complete the pass, he still made a valient effort. The "Smooth Move of the Race" awards one skilled driver a free large cone from T&N Dairy Kreme in Springport. ‎6/30/12 : Following the race, the tower crew determined that Jordan Harvey's four wheel drift coming out of turn four, without making contact with the leader and not losing a position on the track was the T&N Dairy Kreme "Smooth Move of the Race". 7/7/12 : Heat cancellation.

‎7/14/12 : Following the race, the Tower Team declared that Dane Long had earned the T&N Dairy Kreme "Smooth Move of the Race". Long kept consisant pressure on the No. 23 throughout the second half of the A-Group feature, never faultering and giving T-Bauld hardly room to breath till finally on the last lap, Tom would slip under the pressure allowing Long to power by and take the win.
