Racin and Rockin is an annual motorsports and music festival held at Springport Motor Speedway, located in Springport, Michigan each summer in celebration of true Americana; Short track motor racing, Rock-n-Roll and A Pig Roast.
The first Racin and Rockin was held in 2005 and is held annually. Racin & Rockin VII will be held on July 28, 2012. The Auto Racing portion of the festival will feature racing in the following classes: Modifieds, ABC Stock Cars and Sport Stocks. The Music portion of the event will feature The Basement Dawgs.
The brainchild of Matt Schindewolf; who is affectionally known as the Racing Hippie. This year is extra special because this year's event will be a benefit for the Schindewolf family. Matt and Mary have both suffered through various health ailments over the last 12 months and this event almost didn't happen due to those health concerns.
But Big Ed Inloes, Dan Loughan and the Parish Family came forward and saved Racin' & Rockin' and at the same time asked the racing community to give back to the family that has given so much to make this great annual event occur.
Modified Country goes into a rock-n-roll frenzy as the 7th annual "Racin' and Rockin'" celebration returns to Springport Motor Speedway. This fantastic summertime festival is a Mid-Michigan tradition and for the Modified Racing Community and MUST SEE EVENT.
Clear you calendars and prepare to spend the night at the Port as we'll be offering free camping to anyone who wants to spend the evening with us following our post race celebration including a music show by everyone's favorite racing hippie; Matt Schindewolf and the Basement Dawgs.
